Stand up paddleboarding is a new (ish) sport that is set to make a major stand around the worlds beaches and waterways. There are many opinions and much product available to the new SUP rider. We are keen and experienced paddlers and want to put some logical advice forward in this section.
Stand up boards look and are very big, this is for a good reason. A 10' SUP is the equivalent of learning to surf on a 6'0" thruster. Even if you have good surfing ability, you will not stand a chance unless you are child size. We reccommend a structured evolution approach to board selection, and suggest our 12 foot starter package. This board is more suited to flat water paddling and small wave surfing. This is how you improve at your fastest rate and will teach you paddling technique, introduce you to waves and give you a great grounding in the sport without breaking the bank. You are then in a position to decide which direction your paddling will take, it may be mostly flat water or maybe surf, or a mixture. At this point you are in a much better position to be able to choose your next board. We find that people keep this 12 footer for paddling (its a great paddler, i regularly get calls from stoked customers who have just done 20 mile+ paddles, in fact, i still have mine for flat water distance days ) and then get another shorter board for wave riding, or, they trade back in for a mid range hybrid board (50% paddle and 50% surf). This package comes with a standard paddle, which actually is very , very good. This paddle gives an excellent stroke, and great strength. The nature of the sport means that you will constantly fall on the paddle and potentially break it.You do not need an expensive paddle. Again, we will trade it back in if you wish to upgrade.

Mr. Easy
The 12' x32" is "great" in every sense of the word. Super easy to paddle and balance due to its extra width and length. It's especially comfortable to get started on this design, climb over white water and into the waves.
General maneuvering is also made simple. It is a big wide board, but due to it's curvy rocker, deep V, thin rails and rounded outline, it is still extremely agile and turns with a smooth carve.
Perfect for less-than-epic conditions found around the world, it turns the most mediocre of waves into a whole lot of fun.
Due to its phenomenal stability, it is well suited to moving up and down the board longboard-style. You can try to get all "Hawaiian" by getting up to the nose to "hang ten" and then shuffle back to lay down a carve.
Probably the most versatile board in the market and even great for tandem surfing and fishing.

This a dedicated standup shape featuring reduced length and increased width to provide maneuverability and stability in an all around standup design. The JL 10' is Jimmy's latest high performance standup creation. Ideal for smaller or more advanced riders, this board will also handle bigger waves with ease. Featuring a very similar flat bottom and turned down rails to the 11', but with a more curved template with narrower tail and nose.
